Yoga Using a Chair while practicing standing poses, back bends and twists, is a great way to keep alignment in the body. It is a fabulous tool to hold the poses longer and more efficiently, no matter what level you are at.
Although the chair is an ideal aid for those over 50, it also enables an experienced practitioner to access deeper parts of the spine, shoulders and hips for freer movement.
Headstand & shoulder stand can be done safely and comfortably using a chair. When the body is supported, the poses can be held longer, giving more benefit to the endocrine and circulatory system.
If you are a yoga teacher or trainee, this workshop will give you valuable class plans for working with students of all levels as well as learn how to modify for those with limited range of motion.
Time will be spent on using poses for seniors.
