Meditation 101

Life can be stressful, and stress can have serious repercussions on our health. Numerous studies have shown that meditation is an effective stress management tool. When meditation is done on a consistent, daily practice it reprograms the brain to have more capacity to manage stressors. In training the mind to be more open and less reactive we are better able to cope in today’s world.
What is Meditation?
It’s about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You’re learning to observe them without judgement.
What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the ability to be present, to rest in the here and now, fully engaged with whatever we’re doing in the moment. Learning to meditate is like learning any other skill. It takes consistent practice to get comfortable. And its usually easier if you have a teacher
